Leslie Tamaribuchi
Leslie Tamaribuchi is a founding Board member of Watts Village Theater Company. She worked with Cornerstone Theater Company for nearly ten years. She served as managing director at Cornerstone for seven years, producing over 35 original and adapted ensemble productions, community-collaborative works and festivals throughout Los Angeles and in collaboration with regional theaters and communities nationwide. In 2002, Leslie worked as a producer with the Center for New Theater at CalArts on its inaugural production of King Lear and as an organizational development consultant to nonprofit community-based arts organizations. She collaborated in Japan with shogekijo (little theater) groups and produced the first U.S. tour of the butoh troupe Hakutobo. Leslie worked in the Boston area at the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center and as producing director of the New Opera Theater Ensemble. She has served as a panelist for Theater Communications Group, the California Arts Council, the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, and the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department. Leslie lectured on community-based theatre at the University of Southern California. She is currently pursuing a masters degree in public policy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
