One of only five companies invited to produce its work as part of the Ensemble Theatre Collective at [Inside] the Ford, Watts Village Theater Company has represented Watts well with its new play development series "Black Words on White Pages." This reading series performed both at the Ford and in Watts demonstrated WVTC's commitment to both Watts and its mission.

Thanks to the Flintridge Foundation, the Los Angeles County Arts Commission and the Ford Foundation, Watts Village Theater Company joins Los Angeles' preeminent ensemble theatres -- About Productions, Circle X, Ziggurat Theatre Ensemble and Zoo District -- in a historic arts initiative to share space, energy and artistry to further the dynamic of the ensemble in Southern California.

In the first year as part of the Ensemble Theater Collective, from November 2005 through April 2006 WVTC has established itself as one of the most politically and socially conscious theater companies in Los Angeles.
